Are you part of an advocacy organization? Are you interested in improving city accessibility for pedestrians such as people with mobility impairments? Here is a chance to contribute to the next generation of accessible maps!
Our research team is studying methods to enhance existing map technologies and develop new mapping tools to support urban accessibility (e.g. smart routing for people with mobility impairments).
To better understand how advocacy organizations collect and/or analyze information about street and sidewalk accessibility, we would like to invite you for an interview study. The interview session will investigate your current practices around assessing sidewalk accessibility, solicit feedback on some of our initial paper prototypes of map visualizations, and thoughts on future accessible mapping tools.
You must be at least 18 years old and have no vision (including color vision) impairments. Using corrective lenses is acceptable.
The study session can be conducted at your workplace in the Seattle metropolitan area or at our lab on the University of Washington, Seattle campus. The studies will be starting from April 8, 2019. You will participate in one study session of 1.5 - 2 hours. You will receive a compensation of $25/hour for your time and up to $30 towards transportation costs.
If you are interested to participate, please email Manaswi Saha (manaswi@cs.uw.edu) with the following information:
